PSP Tools
| |
Before we begin, you have to know the tools and its function. If you already do, you don't need to read this tutorial, but if you don't, this might be of some help to you. Also, I won't be going over everything because most of it is self-explanatory and I don't use all of them, so my knowledge is limited.
If you have any questions, please go to my forum and ask away.
I am going to go over this part of PSP first. --> click to view

IMAGE SLICER
At first, I thought that PSP image slicer was really difficult to use, but when I had no choice one day, I decided to give it a try. It's actually pretty neat. Well, first of all, it has two ways for you to slice an image.
1) You can use the grid. Meaning, you just enter in how many rows and columns you want and it automatically slice it for you. 2) You can use the knife to slice it yourself. This is useful when you want to use it a certain way.
-
IMAGE MAPPER
If you want to have image map, this tool is very useful and is so easy to use. You can have different shapes with it too. So far, I've only used it once.
-
ANIMATION SHOP
This just opens the animation shop program. Useful if you're making a blinkie or a button and want it animated. You can copy the image, click on that icon, and paste it in there. I think that's faster than saving and then open it in animation.
-
ZOOM
You click on this icon, then click on the image and it will zoom in for you...depending on how many clicks you make.
-
CROP
It cuts the image into square or rectangle. That's the only shapes it can do.
-
MOVER
It moves the images to whatever positions you want. Useful when you want to make the image to show certain spots.
-
SELECTIONS
This is like crop, except it doesn't cut the images, instead it just selects it. Whateever you select, you can only edit that area. The outside part has no effect on whatever it is your doing on the inside.
-
FREE HAND SELECTIONS
You can make any shape using this tool. If you want to select just the heart in an image, then this one is what you use.
-
MAGIC WAND
It also select a fill section. Meaning, if you have a dog on a black background, you click on the black background with this tool and it will select all the black color...if it's the same shade. This tool is also very good for making buttons/avatars with templates and I'll tell you why later.
-
DROPPER
I called it the "color sucker." :P What it does is suck up the color in the image that you want. If you have an image and you want to use the light pink in that image as your text color, but you don't know the color code for it, then you can use the dropper to suck up that color and then you can check the HTML color for it and use that.
-
PAINT BRUSH
Good for drawing pixels!
-
ERASER
I used this to blend because with layers, you can deleted some parts with the eraser. I will explain how later.
-
PICTURE TUBE
This is like brushes, except for some things. First, each tube usually have more than one images and it's usually random. Also, the images have more than one colors and not just one.
-
AIRBRUSH
This is where you get the brushes from. You can use the ones they have already or use the one you made or got from somewhere else.
-
FLOODFILL
It fills the area of an image with whatever color.
-
TEXT
Just creates text.
-
DRAW
This draws lines, curves or whatever. You can also have different types of lines too: dotted...etc.
-
PRESET SHAPES
It mades different type of shapes. Good for making layouts! There are so much you can do with this, but this tutorial is getting too long as it is.
