My new laptop is finally here! I opened it while at work and my bosses were commenting on how it looks so awesome.
I love it! It comes with a little remote and it has touch screen sensor for the volume, etc. I was only able to turn it on, configured my settings and installed my anti-virus software. I can’t wait to see what else it can do. I feel like a 5-year-old kid with candies.
Anyway, I had a pretty busy weekend. I worked at the bookstore for 2 days straight. Oh let you tell you about some of the shit that annoyed me this weekend at work.
So this lady came in and asked for a magazine, “Your Business at Home.” She wanted the May one, but the June one had just came out so usually we throw them out or send them back. However we were all sold out of May and June. So I offered to call another store. She told me to ask the person: how many do they have, is it May or June, will they be getting in more and can they hold it for more than 1 day?
So while I’m on the phone talking to another employee, she interrupted me numerous times by yelling out those questions. Here I am, trying to ask this guy a question, and she’s butting in (rudely!). I’m trying to talk/listen to him and her and I’m just AHHHH!!!
Anyway, so the first store I called didn’t have any more. So I called another store, but they only have 1 copy. When I told her, she held up the magazine that she had bought in with her and asked me to ask the other person if the cover is the same. She yelled at me to read it to him when I told her that he said it was the May edition of “Your business at Home”. Bitch, I think he can hear you on the other line. After I hung up:
Lady: Did you ask him if they will be getting in more? I told you to ask him.
Me: No, I didn’t. But their policy is the same as ours; we have a certain number of subscriptions and once they’re gone for the month, then we’re sold out.
Me: *turns to supervisor* Right Victoria? We can’t order more magazine for the month.
Victoria: Yes..blah blah blah *tries to explain to the bitch about it*
Me: Do you want me to try another store?
Lady: Fine.
So I called another store and once again, she interrupted me again. So the 3rd store I called did have some copies. Since it was kind of far, she said that she might not make it over there on time and asked me if I can ask them to hold it for another day.
Me: The customer would like to know if you can hold it until tomorrow.
Guy: No, we only hold it for a day.
Lady: *rudely interrupts again* 24 hours means that it ends at 1pm tomorrow
Me: I know that, but she really, really, really wants them. And she said that she will buy them. Just hold it for her, please.
Lady: It’s not like they’re going to sell it all by tomorrow…
Guy: Okay, I’ll make an acceptation this time.
OMG! I just wanted her to get out of my face. I hate it when people interrupts me when I’m on the phone. My mother does that to me. It’s really annoying! I’m trying to listen here and all I hear is this bitch talking in my ear. She didn’t give me a chance to ask anything before rudely interrupting. Sorry lady, the world does not evolve about you and your magazine issues.
Then one of my supervisor, Victoria, is freaking annoying. She’s a truly nice person, but she is just so annoying. She’s so by-the-book and follow all the rules and she HATES, HATES, HATES it when people just stand there. Other supervisors and managers usually don’t mind if you stand there for a few seconds, but Victoria would make you do the most stupidiest work. For example, she would make you clean the counters, clean behind the keyboard at the registers (which is pointless since it hasn’t been clean since forever and no one really cares), or tell you to do something when she’s just standing there, doing NOTHING.
So I was done helping a billion and one people that day and I finally got a moment of peace. She was up at the registers dealing with some paperwork. She saw me standing at the info desk. She walked towards me and said, “Emily, can you help me get the reselves from behind the registers?” So I’m thinking, okay, help her means that she can’t hold them all, but NOOOO! I see her walking towards me with NOTHING in her hand. So I got back there and it turned out that I have to make more than one trips to carry them all, when she could have just taken some on her way to where I was standing and handed it to me (since it was going to end up at the info desk anyway) so I can put them away.
I hate that she doesn’t do any actual labor work, but expects everyone else to pick up her shit for her. If she wasn’t such a nice person, I would have done something by now.
Other than work, I slept, played with coco and visited family, I also managed to make a new layout for D-L.net. It’s in the designing process right now so I don’t know when I’ll have time to code it. Hint: It’s purple. Yay for girly colors!
